Manawatu estuary

 Manawatu estuary

The reef heron is in the perfect position for a photograph so I grab out my camera and and take a photo. I look around the estuary and then out of nowhere another reef heron bursts through the reeds and soars into the air I watch it fly to the other side of the estuary. I look at the other reef heron is winging its way to the other side of the estuary. So i recount the Godwits 36 Godwits and the lesser knots 12 lesser knots, wait whats that is that a white heron wait thats to big for a white heron its a Little Egret I take a photo and come away a happy boy.
